Under the artistic leadership of Jin Kim — multiple award winning Music Director & Conductor — Atlantic Symphony has become one of the premier orchestras in New England, known for its level of play.
Our musicians consist of both seasoned professionals and gifted young professionals from the world’s leading conservatories. The majority of members have been fellows at Tanglewood, Aspen, Schleswig-Holstein, and Pacific Music Festivals. Many ASO musicians have earned positions in major symphony orchestras around the world, including the National Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Civic Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Israel Philharmonic, Boston Pops, and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Atlantic Symphony Orchestra is a regional organization, with rehearsals taking place in Boston and Braintree, and the majority of performances taking place at Thayer Academy Center for the Arts in Braintree. Our orchestra sections include: first violin, second violin, viola, violoncello, bass, flute & piccolo, oboe, English horn, clarinet & bass clarinet, bassoon & contrabassoon, alto saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone & bass trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion, piano, harp, and harpsichord.
Musicians are invited to join Atlantic Symphony after a highly selective process. Open positions in the orchestra are announced during the summer, with auditions taking place in the early fall. Musicians may learn more about recent or upcoming auditions here.
