Rehearsing for “Spring Pops!”

Spring Pops!
Saturday, May 1 — new date
Private Stream @ 7 PM; re-watch anytime

We’re not calling it “Season Finale: Pops!” because we have one remaining Hats Off! public concert later in May. But this is the final ticketed event of the season.

This program will be a special one, as we reflect on the challenges of the past 15 months.

Notes from our Music Director, Jin Kim: “The centerpiece of the program is Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” (popularized at FDR’s funeral and in the film Platoon) to commemorate and celebrate all those who have suffered and been lost due to Covid19 in the U.S. and abroad. The program “graduates” with Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1″  to proclaim our continued triumph over all trials and tribulations in life, now and forever. The surrounding works, including those by Bach (father, J.S. Bach, and son, J.C.Bach), Anderson, and Strauss celebrate the resiliency of human spirit.”

An excellent season send-off, as always!
