The Power of Music

“The ASO is a life-changing experience for me, every time I come. As a student musician, watching and hearing the mastery of young professional musicians on stage inspires me to pick up my own instrument and practice, and I learn more about music and history from Jin, every time. I treasure it. The music is a cathartic experience and enriches my life and the community I have made here, I wouldn’t trade for the world.” — H. Wiley, Hingham

If you are an ASO donor, I hope this makes you smile. You are the reason behind it.

Because of the financial generosity of our donors, Atlantic Symphony Orchestra has been here for 23 years to serve Ms. Wiley, and all of us, with local access to outstanding musical performances, artistic excellence, and a welcoming, warm community built around music.

ASO is proud to be among the few local arts organizations building our growing region’s quality of life for all residents with local access to high quality, professional performing arts. The impact of local access to beautiful music and inspiring performances is both profoundly personal and regionally important; for us, there is no better work.

In order to maintain our impact, ASO needs to address vital but underfunded items of our operating budget, this season. Individual donors are the orchestra’s major source of funding. We’re counting on year-end donations to meet a large part of our need for the remaining season.

If you would like to participate in this important appeal, we would be extremely grateful for a generous donation from you by December 31.

Your gift by December 31 will have an immediate and powerful effect on the music in store this season and ASO’s continued impact in the region. I hope you will join me in supporting this wonderful community resource.

With my best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season, and gratitude for all that you do,
Karen Thompson
